Good question. The glue used varies on the plane’s material. Usually when your purchase the kit, it tells you the tools that you need to purchase.

Now, you say you have never had a big aircraft before and flown only small ones. I would suggest getting an electric one. The way I have learned it and I have been told is the Nitro or Gas aircrafts usually have a cut-off switch you have to activate everytime youre in a crash and everytime youre in a crash, theres a massive amount of cash spent into the aircraft to get it repaired. That or its totaled.

As for electric, once you put the throttle down and let go of all the controls, the aircraft would crash with less damage and the chances of it being totaled is a lot less than that of a nitro or gas aircraft. So what I do is stick with the ARF electric kits.

And yes, it is capable of taking off in short cut grass, not like those that are a few inches off the dirt. Get what I mean? Can’t really take off in grass higher than the plane. haha.
