   Buy a sim. It costs a whole lot less to have a virtual crash.

   Buy a Picco C aka Havoc mini, the worlds smallest remote controled heli, and the easiest to fly, maybe the cheapest too, 25 usd in walmart

   As stated, buy a simulator. Practice, Practice, Practice.
   Also a lot of radios will allow you to piggy back to another radio. With this feature, you can find an experienced flyer to kind of take over the controls if need be. Their radio over rides your radios controls.
